OBIT SMITH, WILLIAM WOODROW

SMITH, William Woodrow, 80, of Route 1, Glade Hill, died Thursday, February 10, 1994, in the local hospital. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by a daughter, Alice Faye Smith; a sister, Hilda Cundiff; and two brothers, Kyle Smith and Leonard Smith. He was a retired farmer and retired owner and operator of Smith's Paradise Campground. Surviving are his wife, Mable Cundiff Smith, of the home, four daughters and sons-in-law, Janet and Warren Robertson, Linda and Marlen Davis, all of Glade Hill, Dianne and Jay Hugh Hall, Barbara and Lewis Conner, all of Union Hall; two sons and daughters-in-law, Harry L. and Barbara W. Smith, Rocky Mount, Michael and Vickie T. Smith, Glade Hill; his grandchildren, Anthony Robertson, Belinda Robertson, Cinda and Jeff Guilliams, Jeffery and Cheryl Smith, Kerry Smith, Willie Smith, Wanda West, Duane Davis, Gregory and Jennifer Davis, Amil Davis, Monica Hall, Scott Hall and Kate Elizabeth Conner; one great-granddaughter, Erin West; one stepgreat-granddaughter, Danielle McGhee; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Edith Brown, Esterline Kessler, both of Union Hall, Mary and Henry Brown, Roanoke, Maurine and Fletcher Manning, Glade Hill; two sisters-in-law, Launa Smith, Altavista, Gertrude Hodges, Rocky Mount; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. in Flora Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. Those desiring to, may make memorials to the Glade Hill Fire Dept. or Glade Hill Rescue Squad. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Friday, with the family receiving friends from 5 to 8 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service, 342 S. Main Street, Rocky Mount.
