SOUMA, Eugene M., ("Billy"), 67, of Roanoke, passed from this life
Thursday, February 10, 1994. He was loved by everyone who knew him. He was
owner and proprietor of Shenandoah Restaurant for 40 years. He was a member of
the Moose Lodge #284, the DAV and the VFW and was a member of Our Lady of
Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Survivors are one sister, Julia S. Millehan of
Roanoke; former spouse, Rose Souma of Roanoke; three daughters, Mary Souma
Phillips of Lexington, Caroline Souma of Scottsdale, Ar., Rosie Souma Hagen of
Roanoke; four sons, Michael Souma Jr of Las Vegas, Nev., Michael Duane Deane
of Blue Ridge, Gary Lynn Deane of Roanoke, Kevin Lynn Workman of Roanoke;
grandchildren, Desiree and Nicholas Hagen, Joshua Phillips, Dustin and Matthew
Deane, Kevin and Devin Deane; special friend, Barbara Duncan of Roanoke; a
host of nephews and a niece who loved him dearly. Liturgical prayer service
will be at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel 7 p.m. Sunday. Funeral mass will be at Our
Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church 10:30 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Fr.
Larry Mullaney officiating. Friends may call at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel.
