LANCASTER, DORIS ANNE, OF ROANOKE, DIED
LANCASTER, Doris Anne, of Roanoke, died Saturday, February 12, 1994, in a
local hospital. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church where she
participated in the activities of the choir and the United Methodist Women.
Mrs. Lancaster was a Lay Speaker in the United Methodist Church, served as
secretary of the Industrial Chaplains Ministry and was retired from the
Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. Surviving are
husband, Paul G. Lancaster; sons, Joseph W. Spillman, Roanoke, Daryl L.
Johnson, Petty Officer First Class, U.S. Navy and wife, Vera, Chesapeake, Va.;
stepdaughter, Paula K. Brookman and husband, Nelson, Roanoke; stepson, Garrett
L. Lancaster and wife, Debbie, Roanoke; two brothers of Farmville, Va.;
grandchildren, Frank and Khandi Johnson, Jeremy and Zack Brookman, Garrett Jr.
and Chad Lancaster. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be
made to the elevator fund at Grace United Methodist Church, 4404 Williamson
Rd., Roanoke, Va. 24012. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday, at
Grace United Methodist Church by the Rev. Emory N. Tarpley, Sr. and the Rev.
Thomas E. Jackson. Interment will follow in Evergreen Burial Park. The family
will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and Monday at
Oakey's North Chapel.
