POWERS ANNIVERSARY

Thomas Gordon and Helen Slavick Powers celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on February 12, 1994, at La Maison Restaurant. The celebration was hosted by family members. The couple was married February 12, 1944, at St. Bridges Rectory, Omaha, Neb. Mrs. Powers is the former Helen Marie Slavick. The couple's children are Bruce G. Powers, Roanoke, Gary S. Powers, Norfolk, and Thomas G. Powers, Jr., Roanoke. They have two grandchildren. Mr. Powers retired from General Electric Co. and the U. S. Navy. He is a member of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Assoc., VFW. Mrs. Powers retired from General Electric Co. They are members of Lynn Haven Baptist Church.
