DINNER THEATER PLANNED FEB. 25

Pirates on New River will be portrayed in a musical dinner theater production at Wytheville Community College Feb. 25 in Grayson Hall Commons.

``New River Buccaneers,'' a melodramatic spoof written by Janice Scudder, associate professor of speech, will be the spring semester production of the college's drama department.

Tickets are $20, covering dinner at 6:30 p.m. and the play at 8 p.m. Because seating is limited, tickets must be bought or reserved by FridayFeb18.

The script features four pairs of lovers, including a salty pirate captain and his long lost love; the captain's first mate and a kidnapped heiress; a brave lass and her dashing beau; and a sea-weary maiden and a real estate czar.

The rest of the cast includes an evil villain and a band of lusty pirates.

The event is sponsored by the Wytheville Community College Educational Foundation Committee for the Support of the Creative and Performing Arts, in support of the committee's work in providing cultural programming throughout the college's service area.

Tickets may be purchased by sending a check payable to the WCC Educational Foundation to 1000 E. Main St., Wytheville, Va. 24382. The number of tickets should be specified and a daytime telephone number given.
