TOUR DUPONT FINANCING SOUGHT

Wytheville is seeking $10,000 to finance its part of the Tour DuPont professional bicycle race which will have one of its starts here May 11.

Support in cash, in-kind services and volunteer time already has been offered from throughout the community including civic organizations, businesses and individuals. Signs, security, portable toilets and brochures are among the items to be funded by money raised locally.

Corporate sponsors giving $2,000 will be designated Gold Sponsors and get a course banner, public address announcements, booth space, publicity in Tour DuPont literature and in local media, as well as tickets to various race activities and four Tour DuPont T-shirts.

Silver Sponsors at $1,000, Bronze Sponsors at $500 and sponsors giving $250 get the same general benefits but fewer tickets to Tour DuPont events.
