Tammy Javier, former administrator at the Roanoke Valley SPCA shelter, did not plead guilty to charges stemming from an incident in Franklin County in which her dog was alleged to have bitten a child riding a bicycle near her home.
According to court records, Javier was found guilty of failing to have proper rabies vaccination certification and valid license for the dog. She paid $48 in fines. It never was proved that Javier's dog was the one that bit the child.
The SPCA's board of directors had said the incident contributed to their decision to fire her.
