VMI TRIUMPHS IN BASEBALL

Ryan Glynn doubled home the winning run in the eighth inning Monday as VMI defeated Duke 2-1 in college baseball in Durham, N.C.

Nate Shepperson drove in the other run for the Keydets (1-0) in the fourth inning after Franco Martin tripled. Billy Goodrich was the winning pitcher.

In other college baseball:

Virginia has moved its season opener against East Tennessee State to Thursday at 3 p.m. The game had been scheduled for today, but wet field conditions prevented playing. - Staff report
