Leah Daigle and Aimee Beightol combined for 47 points as the Knights handed the Cougars their first Roanoke Valley District loss.

Cave Spring (16-2, 8-2) led 19-10 at the end of the first quarter and 44-25 at halftime after Daigle scored 14 of her 27 points in the second quarter.

Aimee Beightol scored 20 points and had eight assists for the Knights, and Winsor Simmons grabbed eight rebounds. Cave Spring shot 53 percent from the field and sank 18 of 23 free throws.

Jodie Hallett scored 25 points to lead Pulaski County (13-4, 9-1). \

Franklin County 58

William Fleming 54

The Eagles connected on nine of 11 free throws in the fourth quarter to edge the host Colonels in a Roanoke Valley District game. Natalie Giles scored six of her 12 points in the final period, and Sandy Hudson scored six of her 11 points in the fourth to lead Franklin County. Felecia Manns led William Fleming with 13 points. \

Timberlake Christian 51

Hargrave 23

LYNCHBURG - Debbie Phillips scored 21 points as Timberlake beat Hargrave in a Blue Ridge Conference tournament game. Timberlake led 27-12 at halftime and pulled away from there. \
