OBIT EDDY, ELIZABETH SUE

EDDY, Elizabeth Sue, 72, of Orange Park, Fla., died Saturday, February 12, 1994. Mrs. Eddy was a native of Roanoke and had made her home in Orange Park, Fla. for several years. She was a retired educator with the Roanoke City Public Schools, was past President and member of the Rokeva Woman's Club of Roanoke. She was a previous member of the Green Memorial Methodist Church, Roanoke. She was a very active member of the Orange Park Woman's Club, and a member and church librarian of Advent Lutheran Church. She was the widow of the late Lt. Col. Philip W. Eddy Sr., U.S. Army, who preceded her in death November 16, 1989. She is survived by her four sons and their wives, Philip W. Eddy Jr. and Sandra, Arthur E. Eddy and Karen, Russell L. Eddy and Anne, Paul F. Eddy and Jenny; one aunt, Mrs. Burton Hurt of Roanoke; one brother, Robert E. Craighead; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday from the Chapel of Jacksonville Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 111 Blanding Blvd., Orange Park, with the Rev. Clark McPhail, of Advent Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will follow in Jacksonville Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8. Those desiring may make memorial contributions in Mrs. Eddy's memory to either the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
