OBIT CROWELL, MRS. EDITH LESLIE MANKIN
CROWELL, Mrs. Edith Leslie Mankin of Roanoke, Va., passed away on Tuesday,
February 15, 1994, peacefully. Edith was preceded in death by her husband,
Luther Lee ("Jack") Crowell. She was a long time member of Greene Memorial
United Methodist Church and a past president and member of the Harmon Bible
Class. Edith was also a long time member of Eastern Star #131 in South
Charleston, West Va. Surviving are a daughter, Edith Diane Heslop, Chicago,
Ill. and a daughter and son-in-law, Margaret Jane and Chuck Stowe, Roanoke.
Edith also had six granddaughters, Mrs. Rick (Diane) Witowski, Illinois, Mrs.
Steve (Nancy) Carlson, Illinois, Mrs. George (Holly) Garbo, Illinois, Mrs.
Margie Gregory, Kill Devil Hills, N.C., Mrs. Nick (Kim) Sharp, Roanoke, and
Miss Heidi Stowe, Roanoke; three great-grandsons, and
sevengreat-granddaughters. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February
17, 2 p.m. at Oakey's South Chapel with the Rev. Jim Riach officiating. The
family will receive friends on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. Burial will be at
Evergreen Cemetery.
