OBIT ROBERTSON, CHARLES EUGENE (GENE)

ROBERTSON, Charles Eugene (Gene), 86, of Roanoke died in a Roanoke hospital early Tuesday morning. He was preceded in death by two sons, Charles Eugene Robertson, Jr., and Frank William Robertson. He was a member of Raleigh Court Presbyterian Church where he had served as deacon and elder. He was retired from the Norfolk Southern Corporation. Surviving are his wife, Carolyn G. Robertson, Roanoke; daughter-in-law, Nancy G. Robertson, Roanoke; two grandsons and granddaughter-in-law, John Christian Robertson, Richmond; Jeffrey William and Lisa Wishon Robertson, St Louis, Mo; great-granddaughter, Tessa Dianne Robertson; one sister, Mrs Juanita R. Pollard, Pennsylvania. A private graveside service will be conducted in Evergreen Burial Park followed by a Memorial Service at Raleigh Court Presbyterian Church, 2 pm Thursday with Dr Tupper Garden and the Rev. Gene B. Edmunds officiating. The family suggest memorials be made to Raleigh Court Presbyterian Church. Friends may call at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel.
