OBIT CUSTARD, AMIE WISELY

CUSTARD, Amie Wisely, 93, of Waynesboro, Va. passed away Tuesday, February 15, 1994, at her home. She was born January 13, 1901, in Albermarle Co., Va., a daughter of William Lee and Alice Martin Wisely. Mrs. Custard was preceded in death by her husband, Hunter F. (Buck) Custard in 1975; two brothers, John and Martin Wisely; a sister, Mary Watkins; four half sisters and a grandson, Robert Custard. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, William Lee (Billy) Custard and wife, Amanda of Grottoes, James H. Custard and wife, Martha of Waynesboro; daughter, Betty Jane and husband Otho Payne of Roanoke. She is also survived by six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews; a brother and his wife, Russell and Lucy Wisely of Staunton; sister-in-law, Ruby Wisely of Waynesboro. Mrs. Custard was an active member of Wayne Hills United Methodist Church, the Vivian Snow Circle, and West End Prayer Group. She was a member of the Waynesboro Senior Citizen's Club and an active member of Waynesboro Home Demonstration Club for over 50 years. A service will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, February 17, 1994, at Wayne Hills United Methodist Church by the Rev. Ron Mateer. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Marshall, Rick Baird, John and Kevin Glasgow and Steven and David Custard. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Waynesboro Chapel of Etter Funeral Home. The family requests memorial contributions be made to Wayne Hills United Methodist Church, 932 Fir St., Waynesboro, Va. 22980.
