FLEMING UPSETS PULASKI

Ashaki Johnson scored 22 points, grabbed eight rebounds, had seven assists and made all eight of her fourth-quarter free throws as host William Fleming upset Pulaski County 44-33 in a Roanoke Valley District girls' basketball game Wednesday night.

The loss drops Pulaski County (13-5, 9-2) into a first-place tie with Cave Spring atop the district standings with one game remaining for each team. Fleming (10-7, 6-5) plays at Cave Spring Saturday, and Pulaski County hosts Frankln County on Friday.

The Colonels connected on 12-of-14 free throws in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Cougars 20-9 in the period to break open a tight game. \
