OBIT DYSON, JAMES MARSHALL

DYSON, James Marshall, 80, of Route 2, Bedford, died Wednesday, February 16, 1994 in Virginia Baptist Hospital following a brief illness. He was born in Hanover County March 14, 1913 son of the late W. Walter Dyson and Lula Talley Dyson. He was retired Senior Sales Associate for Corning Incorporated, Corning, N.Y. and and Army Veteran of World War II. He was a member of Bedford Baptist Church, Bedford Moose Lodge #1897, Lynchburg Elks Lodge #321, Cascade East Point Masonic Lodge #94, East Point, Ga. and Board-Canady Post #54 American Legion. He is survived by his wife Deane Saunders Dyson; a daughter and son-in-law, Pattie Dyson Clotfelter and David Clotfelter of Marietta, Ga.; a sister, Althea D. Biddlecomb of Ashland; a granddaughter Elizabeth D. Haverstick of Valdosta, Ga.; two grandsons, Max Edwin and John Thomas Clotfelter of Marietta, Ga. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday, February 18, 1994 at the Carder-Tharp Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Charles T. Dorman and the Rev. Karla Gee officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to either the Bedford Life Saving Crew or the Bedford Community Health Foundation. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Carder-Tharp Funeral Home.
