Because incorrect information was given to the paper, a story in Thursday's paper said the entire Blue Ridge Parkway had been closed because of downed trees. The south entrance at U.S. 221, and south into North Carolina is not gated, although park officials recommend against travel. The north entrance at U.S. 221 remains closed.
