OBIT BURKS, MARION OVERSTREET

BURKS, Marion Overstreet, 77, of Route 1, Big Island, died Thursday, February 17, 1994 at her residence. She was born in Bedford County March 16, 1916 a daughter of the late Henry Robert Overstreet and Bertha Inez Hodges Overstreet. She as a lifelong member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband, Claude M. Burks; two daughters and a son-in-law, Louise E. Burks of Big Island, Claudine B. and Gibo Luck of Bedford; a sister, Lucille O. Parks of Big Island; a grandson, Clay Luck of Bedford. Funeral services will be conducted at the graveside at Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery at 4 p.m. Saturday, February 19, 1994, with the Rev. James S. Blankenbaker officiating. Memorials may be made to either the Big Island Rescue Squad or Ebenezer United Methodist Church. Friends may call at the residence. Arrangements by Carder-Tharp Funeral Home, Bedford.
