MOUNT TABOR RESIDENTS PLAN I-73 MEETING

A group of concerned residents and property owners in the Mount Tabor area of Blacksburg will hold a meeting at Slusser's Chapel Church of God on Monday at 7 p.m. to discuss how routes for proposed Interstate 73 could affect the community.

The meeting will focus on corridors that could be routed through Blacksburg and could affect areas such as Mount Tabor, Ellett Valley or Craig Creek.

One of the routes being backed for the interstate, which would link Detroit and Charleston, S.C., would follow U.S. 460 through Blacksburg and then link into the smart road to Roanoke. The chapel is located at 1543 Mount Tabor Road.
