Noland Co., Newport News-based distributor of equipment to the building trades with operations in Roanoke, on Friday reported 1993 net income of $3.3 million, or 89 cents per share, down 19.5 percent from the year-earlier $4.1 million, or $1.11 per share. Sales totaled $402.9 million, down 2.2 percent from $412.1 million in 1992.
Fourth-quarter sales were $100.5 million, slightly higher than the year-earlier $100 million, and net income was $2.7 million, or 72 cents per share, up 30 percent from $2 million, or 56 cents, in the 1992 quarter.\ Coca-Cola Bottling Co.
Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated, Charlotte, N.C., parent of Coca-Cola Bottling Co. of Roanoke and of operations in Clifton Forge, Dublin, Martinsville, Norton and Bristol, on Friday reported record 1993 net income of $14.8 million, or $1.60 per share, compared with a 1992 loss of $2.1 million, or 23 cents per share, before the effect of accounting changes. Hanover Direct Inc., Weehawken, N.J., mail order merchant operating the Tweeds telemarketing and fulfillment center in Roanoke, on Friday reported 1993 net income of $17.3 million, or 17 cents per share. Net income for 1992 after extraordinary items was $20.2 million, or 44 cents per share. Revenues increased to $642.5 million from $586.6 million in 1992.
