In Norfolk, Matt McLeod finished second in the 50-meter freestyle, the best finish by a North Cross participant in the Virginia Independent School state swimming and diving championship at Norfolk Academy.

The North Cross boys were 10th and the girls were 12th in a 20-team field. Norfolk Academy was first in both divisions, with the boys seeking their 13th consecutive title.

Mary Logan, a North Cross freshman, set a school record of 26.84 seconds to finish sixth in the 50 freestyle.
