FUMES FROM PATIENT'S BODY FELL DOCTOR, NURSE

Mysterious fumes apparently coming from a patient's body knocked out a doctor and a nurse and forced a hospital to close its emergency room, authorities said Sunday.

The patient died and her body was being kept isolated until officials learned more about the case, said Riverside County Deputy Coroner Alan Wesefeldt. "It appears to be something coming from the body itself," he said. "We are trying to get background before we approach the body. We don't want to put more people at risk."
