Roanoke's teams are the top seeds for both tournaments, being played at the same venue on the same days for the first time.
The Roanoke women's team (20-4 overall, 18-0 in the ODAC) will tip off the tournament against eighth-seeded Eastern Mennonite (7-17, 5-13) at 1 p.m. Wednesday. The men's team (23-1, 17-1) will face eighth-seeded Lynchburg (10-14, 7-11) at 3 p.m. The Hornets edged Washington and Lee for the final spot.
Other first-round games will be played Thursday. In the men's bracket, No. 2 Hampden Sydney (20-4, 15-3) plays No. 7 Guilford (10-13, 8-10) at noon, No. 3 Randolph-Macon faces No. 6 Emory & Henry (11-13, 8-10) at 4 p.m. and No. 4 Bridgewater takes on No. 5 Virginia Wesleyan (11-13, 9-9) at 9:15 p.m.
In the women's tournament, Randolph-Macon (17-6, 14-4) is seeded second, Guilford (14-10, 13-5) is third, Virginia Wesleyan (16-8, 13-5) is fourth and Bridgewater (12-12, 10-8) is fifth. The sixth and seventh seeds will not be determined until today, after Emory & Henry plays a makeup game against Randolph-Macon Woman's College at 4 p.m.
If the Wasps win, they will be the sixth seed with a 7-11 conference record. A loss would drop them into a tie with Lynchburg at 6-12. Using the ODAC's tie-breaking criteria, Lynchburg would receive the sixth seed and E & H would be No. 7.
Randolph-Macon plays the seventh seed in the first round at 10 a.m. Thursday. Guilford plays the sixth seed at 2 p.m., and Virginia Wesleyan and Bridgewater meet at 7:15 p.m.
Semifinal games will be played Friday. In the men's tournament, the Roanoke-Lynchburg winner plays the Bridgewater-Virginia Wesleyan winner at noon. The Hampden-Sydney and Guilford winner plays the Randolph-Macon and Emory & Henry winner at 4 p.m.
The women's semifinals are at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Friday.
The championship game of the women's tournament will be played at 11 a.m. Saturday, followed by the men's title game at 2 p.m.
