ETC. HIPPENSTEEL REACHES TENNIS FINAL

Top-seeded K.J. Hippensteel of Roanoke advanced to today's final of the Boys' Mid-Atlantic 14-and-under singles tennis tournament in Potomac, Md.

Hippensteel, 13, defeated David Wienstein of Potomac 6-0, 6-1 in a quarterfinal, then beat Andrew Vu of Reston 6-2, 6-2 to reach today's 2 p.m. final against Dustin Freeman of Baltimore.

Hippensteel is ranked No. 1 in the Mid-Atlantic region and No. 18 in the nation in his age bracket.
