OBIT--TILSON, VIRGINIA PEERY

TILSON, Virginia Peery, 89, of Lexington, died Saturday, February 19, 1994 at the Mayflower. Born February 18, 1905 in Smyth County, she was the daughter of the late William Peery and Alia McClellan Peery. Mrs. Tilson was a member of the Lexington Presbyterian Church, Past President of Lexington Womens Club, Past member Natural Bridge Garden Club, and served on the Board of Childrens Clinic for over 17 years. She was the widow of Warren Edward Tilson. Surviving are one daughter, Helen Tilson Fletcher, Staunton; one son, James A. Tilson, Lexington; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at the graveside at Stonewall Jackson Cemetery Monday, February 21, 1994, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Lee Zehmer officiating. Harrison Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
