Sen. Charles Robb and Oliver North, who hopes to win the Republican nomination to unseat Robb in the November election, each have personal wealth exceeding a million dollars.

Robb, a Democrat, recently was ranked the 11th richest member of Congress by Roll Call, a Capitol Hill newspaper. It put his wealth at $20 million. Robb is married to the former Lynda Bird Johnson, whose parents, the late President Johnson and Lady Bird, were Texas millionaires.

North, who became a hero to some and a threat to others for his role in the Iran-Contra scandal, reported assets of more than $2.3 million in a financial disclosure statement in October. - Associated Press
