GASOLINE PRICES ON THE UPSWING

The nationwide average price of self-serve regular unleaded gasoline has risen 0.9 cent per gallon since Jan. 18 to $1.069, the American Automobile Association said Tuesday.

The national motor club's monthly report shows that the price increase is the first since October, when the nationwide average was $1.134.

The average price of self-serve midgrade unleaded rose 0.8 cent to $1.178 per gallon. The price of self-serve premium unleaded was 0.7 cent higher at $1.266.

Average full-serve prices were: regular unleaded, unchanged at $1.338 per gallon; midgrade, up 0.4 cent to $1.442; and premium, up 0.4 cent to $1.505.
