OBIT MARTIN, NETTIE EAST

MARTIN, Nettie East, 88, of Narrows, died Sunday in a Rich Creek Nursing Home. A lifelong resident of Giles County, she was born on July 9, 1905 and was the daughter of the late Ezkel and Mary Bessie Woolwine East. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Narrows and was preceded in death by her husband, Hampton R. Martin. She is survived by a son, John L. Martin, Alexandria, Va.; two sisters, Alean Pruett, Houston, Texas and Rena Bishop, Princeton, W.Va.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held Saturday morning at 11 a.m. in Fairview Cemetery in Narrows, with the Rev. Jack E. Musick officiating. The family will receive friends at Riffe's Funeral Service in Narrows, Friday Evening from 7-9 p.m.
