IN SCHOOL

FREED-HARDEMAN UNIVERSITY in Henderson, Tenn., has named several Roanoke Valley residents to academic lists for the fall semester.

Stephanie McLaughlin, daughter of Kenneth and Barbara McLaughlin; Lisa Bennett, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Freeland, were named to the dean's list.

Christy Dennis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Dennis, was named to the president's list.

Dennis also completed requirements for a bachelor of social work degree and will graduate summa cum laude.

McLaughlin, an arts and humanities major, also was nominated as a finalist for the Miss FHU 1994 title.

\ BRIDGEWATER COLLEGE has named five Roanoke Valley students to its fall dean's list. They are: Michelle Rena Brown, Roanoke, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Garland Brown; David Preston Cox, Salem, son of Mr. and Mrs. KenneyCox; Elizabeth D. Kirk, Roanoke, daughter of Rev. and Mrs. David Kirk; Jennifer Adele Lowe, Roanoke, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Lowe; and Jeffrey C. Mills, Blue Ridge, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Mills.

Brown and Cox are freshman and Kirk, Lowe and Mills are seniors. Brown and Mills also earned all A's and a perfect 4.0 quality point average.
