FINE ARTS CENTER TO SHOW STUDENT WORK

The New River Valley Fine Arts Center will sponsor an exhibition of student artwork from schools throughout the region during March, which is Youth Art Month nationally.

The exhibit will be housed in both the center's Main Street Gallery in Pulaski and the Woman's Club Annex. A reception for the students whose works are displayed will be held from 1 to 2:30 p.m. March 27 at the gallery and from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at the annex.

Students interested in participating can get further information from their teachers, who should have been provided information about exhibit plans. Further information is available by calling the center at 980-7363.

For the rest of February, the center will have a display of work by Salem wife and husband artists Chrys and Don Meador.

Chrys Meador operated The Art Shoppe in Fincastle during the 1970s, but has been participating in shows and exhibits with her work since the early 1960s. Her husband, a semiretired draftsman and award-winning photographer, became interested in silkscreen and woodcut printing in addition to etched printing so the artwork styles are varied in this exhibit.
