The Greater Blacksburg Chamber of Commerce has named the Western Store on U.S. 460 as February's Proud Chamber Member. The store is owned by Sue Atkinson and offers English and Western tack as well as clothes, boots, leather and jewelry.

Ninety percent of the products carried at The Western Store are American made. Leather personalization and hat and boot fitting are some of the personal services that Atkinson attributes to the store staying in business while similar ones open and close.

Fifty-two new members joined the chamber as a result of its recent telephone membership drive. Jeff Stump, certified public accountant, was the top producer and won airline tickets and accomadations fortwo to Las Vegas, Nev.
