ROANOKE VALLEY CHRISTIAN FALLS

Five players scored in double figures as Miller School rolled to a 74-64 victory over Roanoke Valley Christian in the quarterfinals of the Virginia Independent Conference boys' basketball tournament Thursday.

Miller School (12-3) outscored the Eagles 37-25 in the first half and held them at bay in the second.

Butch Wendleton scored 18 points to lead Miller School. Kelly Taylor had 17 and Don Harris added 16.

Billy Fluker scored 25 points, including four 3-pointers, to lead Roanoke Valley Christian (10-4). Scott Apjok had 16 points and eight rebounds.

Miller School will face Holy Cross at 6:15 p.m. today at Lynchburg College.

\ Eastern Mennonite 70\ North Cross 54

LYNCHBURG - Doug Blyer's 18 points paced Eastern Mennonite to the win over North Cross in the quarterfinals of the VIC Tournament.

The loss ended the season for the Raiders (11-9).

Ryan Strite added 16 points and Weston Yutzey 13 for Eastern Mennonite (10-9), which pulled away at the free-throw line in the fourth quarter.

Monty Smith led North Cross with 23 points. Hal Johnson added 14 and Marcus Cardwell 12.

Eastern Mennonite will face Fishburne Military Academy tonight at 8.
