OBIT VAUGHN, LILLIE COTTRELL

VAUGHN, Lillie Cottrell, 94, of Roanoke, died Wednesday, February 23, 1994. She was the widow of Harry Winkfield Vaughn. Born in Bedford County August 9, 1899. Daughter of the late Robert Lewis Cottrell and Martha Frances Carter. She was the oldest living member of Garden City Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a son, Sherman W. Vaughn and a daughter, Virginia Vaughn Martin. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Lillian V. Jones of Roanoke; two sons, Harry Vaughn, Jr. of Roanoke and Elbyrne Gill Vaughn of Charlotte, N.C.; 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel, 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 26, 1994, with the Rev. Charles S. Hoffler officiating with interment in Sherwood Memorial Park. Friends may call at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel.
