OBIT PETERSON, ELIZABETH JOHNSON
PETERSON, Elizabeth Johnson, 84, of Marion, died Wednesday, February 23,
1994, in Stratford Hall Nursing Home in Richmond. She was the widow of N.C.
(Pete) Peterson. She was a graduate of Marion College and was a teacher in
Smyth County for many years. She was a member of the Smyth County Community
Hospital Auxiliary, a member of the Garden Club, and a member of the Ebenezer
Lutheran Church. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Charles and
Lisa Peterson of Richmond; one granddaughter, Mary Elisabeth Peterson of
Richmond; one sister, Katherine McCullough of Durham, N.C. Funeral services
will be held Saturday, February 26, 1994 at 2 p.m. at Ebenezer Lutheran Church
with Pastor James H. Bangle officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Carmel
Cemetery. The body will be taken to the church one hour before the service.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Seaver-Brown
Chapel.
