DEPUTIES TO CHECK FOR CHILD-SEAT USAGE

Montgomery County sheriff's deputies will be checking for proper usage of child safety seats from 1:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. today Friday, Feb 25 at the Market Place in front of Wal-Mart.

Surveys indicate over 75 percent of the child safety seats in cars are not being used properly, the sheriff's office said. Virginia law requires that youngsters under four years old be properly secured in an approved child-restraint device.
