OBIT PATTON, EVELYN GRIFFITH

PATTON, Evelyn Griffith, 77, of Roanoke, formerly of Covington, died Saturday, February 26, 1994, in a local hospital. She was a member of the Wesley Fellowship Sunday School class and the Mary Apperson Circle of Greene Memorial Methodist Church. Mrs. Patton belonged to local bridge clubs. Surviving are her husband, O. H. (Pat) Patton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gerald and Donna Patton, Vinton, Don and Diane Patton, Roanoke; sister, Bonnie Plymale, Clifton Forge; one brother, Raymond Griffith, Perry Hall, Md.; also four grandchildren, Chad, Angela, Eric and Laura Patton; a special friend, John Liu. Funeral services will be conducted from Greene Memorial United Methodist Church 2 p.m. Monday, February 28, 1994, with Dr. Jerry O. Campbell and the Rev. Walter M. Lockett and Dr. Bernard S. Via, Jr. officiating. Entombment will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the memorial fund, Greene Memorial United Methodist Church, P.O. 1305, Roanoke, Va. 24007-1305. The family will receive friends at Oakey's North Chapel Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
