OBIT SALMON, CHARLES E.
SALMON, Charles E., 69, of Salem, went on to meet the Lord, Friday,
February 25, 1994. He was retired from Salem V. A. Medical Center and was
working as Manager-Quality Control and Safety for Wlliams Painting. He
attended Faith Assembly of God in Salem for over 25 years. He was born April
22, 1924 in Roanoke, son of Rev. and Mrs. W. B. Salmon, who preceded him in
death. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy M. Salmon; daughter, Diane Salmon
Huddleston; sons, Charles Jr. (Skip) and wife Judi, Joseph Lynn, Michael Glenn
and wife Tammy, foster son, Dave Hurley, all of Roanoke; six grandsons, Scott,
Stephen and wife Vickie, Joshua, Jacob, Brad Huddleston and wife Beth of
Broadway, Va. and Tommy Huddleston, U. S. Coast Guard. Also, four brothers,
Jim Salmon, Richard and wife Betty, Roanoke, Shirley and wife Ann, Daniel and
wife Judy, all of King, N.C.; six sisters, Rebecca Williams and husband
Hammond, Roanoke, Margaret Everett, Wimington, N.C., Ruth Mitchell and husband
Marvin, Doris Lawson and husband Raymond, all of Winston -Salem, N.C., Ruby
Parks Whitt, Plantation, Fla, Libby Ferguson of Pennsylvania; sister-in-law,
Liddy Salmon, Roanoke; one uncle, Otey LaPrade, Walkertown, N.C.; numerous
nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday at Lotz
Salem Chapel by the Rev. Glenn Strickland and the Rev. Jeff Davis. Interment
will be at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends after
noon Sunday at the Lotz Salem Chapel. Isaiah 40:31-"But they that wait upon
the Lord shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings as eagles;
they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."
