Stephanie Duncan scored 16 points and Anne Uleman had 12 points and 10 rebounds as the fourth-seeded Monarchs stunned the top-seeded Captains in the semifinals at Ferrum.

Karen Barefoot led Christopher Newport (15-10) with 21 points, eight steals and seven assists. She recorded her 1,000 career assist, making her the only person in NCAA history - men's or women's, all divisions - to record 2,000 points and 1,000 assists. \

Tammy Bowen scored 27 points and Kinsey Pritchett added 16 as the second-seeded Bishops beat the third-seeded Panthers in the other semifinal.

N.C. Wesleyan (18-7) played Methodist for the title Saturday niht. The winner advances to the NCAA Division III playoffs. Neither team has ever qualified for postseason play.
