The outrageous Sally Kirkland put herself on public auction on television's "Leeza" show Friday.

The actress, known for her outlandish and ultrasexy attire when not making movies, announced she has been celibate for a whole year, but now is ready to resume the chase - and to be chased. She invited those interested to "send your pictures and resumes to Leeza Gibbons." Gibbons promised to pass them on.

The Wall Street Journal notes this message on a mailed flier advertising Rush Limbaugh's newsletter: "This envelope was not printed on recycled paper."

People said it wouldn't last - and they were right. Shannen Doherty and her teen-age husband of five months, Ashley Hamilton, have split. Apparently, it was something about his continuing to party hearty during a period when she's apparently chilling out. Hamilton's been seen about L.A. with various women including old flame Claire Stansfield.

Chelsea Clinton turned 14 years old Sunday. And that's about all the White House will say about her birthday. "We don't talk about Chelsea," said Neel Lattimore, spokesman for Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Even privately, aides were reluctant to talk about the nation's first daughter. The Clintons, determined to raise their daughter as normally as possible, have made it clear that talk about Chelsea is off-limits.

Officials did say, though, that several of her teen-age friends spent Saturday night at the White House. The teens ate a birthday breakfast with the president, who went to church early Sunday and spent the day in the residence so he could be around Chelsea.

Geraldine Barr took her loaded sister, Roseanne Arnold, to court when they had a falling out, claiming the comedian owed her half of her earnings. Last week a judge said nah-uh.

John Bobbitt is not engaged to marry a woman he met in Las Vegas, contrary to a report in a London newspaper, his agent said Sunday.

"He knows this girl, she's an acquaintance . . . but there are no wedding plans," Paul Erickson said. He described the report in The Sunday Mirror as "a little overblown."

The newspaper reported that Bobbitt, 26, and Kristina Goulet, 21, planned to live together in Las Vegas and get married this summer. "We're getting married this summer and we're not having sex until then," Goulet was quoted as telling the tabloid.
