BLUE DEVILS FALL SHORT IN TITLE GAME

GRAYSON COUNTY is little match for Floyd County in the Mountain Empire District boys' basketball championship game.

\ Floyd County used a strong second-half charge to whip Grayson County 66-47 in the championship game of the Mountain Empire District basketball tournament Saturday.

Floyd County (18-3) will play Hogoheegee District tournament champion Lebanon in the Region C tournament Wednesday at Emory and Henry.

Grayson County (20-4), the regular season district champion, plays Friday at Emory & Henry against the Chilhowie-Glenvar winner.

The Buffaloes led 32-26 at halftime, then extended their lead with a 14-8 third period and a 20-13 fourth quarter.

Phillip Marshall and Jamie Warren led Floyd County with 17 points apiece.

Brian Boyer led the Blue Devils with 19 points. \
