OBIT SMITH, EARL FRANKLIN

SMITH, Earl Franklin, 64, of Buena Vista, died Saturday, February 26, 1994 in a Charlottesville Hospital. He was born in Rockbridge County, November 29, 1929, the son of the late Ashby and Sally Higgins Smith. He was a plumber in Buena Vista and Rockbridge County for many years. Surviving are his wife, Lois Lynn Smith; two daughters, Dianne Lee, Buena Vista, Sharon Thompson and her husband, Ricky, Macon, Ga.; one son, Sidney E. Smith and his wife, Hilda, Buena Vista; two sisters, Myrtle Vest and Lola Higgins, both of Lexington; two brothers, William T. Smith, Waynesboro, Estel Smith, Troutville; four special grandchildren, Kelly L. Sears and Jacob Smith, both of Buena Vista, Travis Matheny, Goshen, Shawn Thompson, Macon, Ga.; two special friends, Tonkey Coleman and Bobby Shumaker; and many loyal customers. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Lomax Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Lester Kennedy. Burial will follow in the Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
