The Educational Testing Service, the company that gives the Scholastic Assessment Test, had allowed disabled students to take it only in March, claiming it had only a limited number of tests available in Braille, large type or on cassette. Students who are not disabled can take it in May and June.
Dozens of students complained and at least one filed a lawsuit.
The Princeton, N.J.-based company and the College Board denied they violated the law but agreed Thursday to let disabled students take the new test in June. The College Board is a group of more than 2,900 colleges that worked with ETS to develop the test.
