KAMM, Florence Lubman, 84, of Roanoke, died Friday, April 1, 1994 in a local hospital. She was the widow of Abraham Kamm, retired owner of the Sylvia Hat Shoppe in Petersburg, Va. and a volunteer at Roanoke Memorial Hospital for many years. Mrs. Kamm was a member of Beth Israel Synagogue. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Stanley B. and Marty Etzler Kamm, Roanoke; grandson, Andrew Mark Kamm, Marietta, Ga.; and brother, Bernard Lubman, Colonial Heights, Va. Graveside services will be conducted l p.m. Monday at Brith Achim Cemetery, Petersburg, Va., with Rabbi Dennis Beck-Berman officiating. SETTLES, Noah M., 80, of Vinton, died Friday, April 1, 1994 in the Salem VA Medical Center. He was retired from the Norfolk and Southern Railway. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Cliford and Mary Bessie Penecost Settles; two brothers, James E. Settles and Clarence E. Settles and a sister, Helen Settles Sheffield. Surviving are his wife; Dorothy Karnes Settles; brothers and sisters-in-law, Charlie C. Settles, Jr. of Vinton, Johnie C. and Edna Settles of North Highland, Calif., Millard (""Bill"") and Florence Settles of Vinton; two sisters, Grace Wilson of Copper Hill, Frances Riley of Roanoke; a special great-niece, Katie (""Doll Baby"") Whitlock of Roanoke; also a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at Oakey's Vinton Chapel 1 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Tom W. Hurt officiating. Interment will be in the Suck Springs Cemetery in Bedford County. STOKES, Gladys McCallister, 72, of Chilhowie, died Friday, April 1, 1994, in Johnson City Medical Center Hospital, Johnson City, Tn. She was the daughter of the late Thomas A. and Texie Love McCallister. She was a member of the Tate's Chapel United Methodist Church. She was a retired teacher, having taught for a period of 44 years in the public schools of Smyth County, Virginia. She is survived by her husband, Ralph R. Stokes; two brothers, John Sanders McCallister, Fincastle and Albert McCallister, Chilhowie; one sister, Elizabeth McCallister Wells, Johnson City, Tenn. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 pm Sunday in Tate's Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Terry D. Goodman officiating. Burial will follow in Saint James Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm Saturday at the Williams Funeral Home.
