FRANKLYN H. MORENO, executive director of the New River Valley Economic Development Alliance, has been elected to a three-year term on the board of directors of the Virginia Chamber of Commerce. Moreno is a certified economic developer, and chairman of the Virginia Team and secretary of the Blue Ridge Economic Development Advisory Council.

The 1993-94 Young Careerist selected by the Radford Business and Professional Women's Organization is CLAIRE CHILDRESS of Christiansburg. Childress is an administrative assistant at New River Community College. She holds an MBA from Virginia Tech and a bachelor's degree from Randolph-Macon Women's College.

DAVE ROEDERER has been appointed general manager of WPSK, 107.1-FM in Pulaski. Roederer has been in broadcasting for 20 years and was most recently general manager of WYVE and vice president of Advent Communications, Inc.

SANDY MILLER of Petals 'n Palette in Blacksburg has earned a Florists' Transworld Delivery (FTD) certification by completing seminars in financial analysis, creative marketing, managing people for improved results and improving shop productivity.

JOSEPH M. PIERSON of Blacksburg has joined CCS Data Station of Christiansburg as a computer technician. Pierson formerly performed work for NASA's Langley Research Center.

JIMMY WILLIAMS was recently named the teaching professional at Cox's Golf Range on Prices Fork Road in Blacksburg. He is a member of the Professional Golf Association and has 14 years' experience teaching golf.
