In commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the Episcopal Diocese of Southwestern Virginia, a New River Valley area CONFIRMATION CEREMONY will be held April 10, 5 p.m., at St. John's Episcopal Church, Wytheville.
Bishop A. Heath Light of Roanoke will officiate. Regional meetings throughout the 30-county diocese are designed to let scattered members come together to mark the occasion.
At the service, youth reaffirm their baptismal vows, and adults who have previously been baptized in another Christian church are transferred into the Episcopal church after a period of instruction.
