BARTOK-KABALEVSKY PIANO COMPETITION

Internationally renowned pianist Gyorgy Sandor will be the guest artist for this year's Bartok-Kabalevsky International Piano Competition at Radford University on Saturday.

This is the 11th year Sandor has served as the principal judge of the 14-year-old competition, which attracts pianists of all ages from many states and several other countries.

Sandor will conduct a master class during the competition on Friday at 3:30 p.m. That night at 8 p.m., last year's winner of the adult level of the competition, John Solomons, will give a recital.

On Saturday, Sandor will judge the final competition at 1:30 p.m. And, on April 10 at 2 p.m., he will perform in concert in Preston Auditorium. Tickets for his concert are $3. Other events are free.
