DelRicco, who was charged with the misdemeanor after a fight at a Tech fraternity in February, pleaded not guilty to the charges in Montgomery County General District Court.
Judge Frank Slavin took the charge under advisement until July 14.
DelRicco, 21, was ordered to pay $269 to victim Michael Messina and to complete 25 hours of community service by July 14. If DelRicco completes his obligations, the charge will be dismissed.
Beamer said Friday he has put DelRicco on "probation" until July 14, meaning DelRicco will remain in good standing with the team unless he gets in trouble again.
Beamer said he thought the court handled the case "fairly."
"I think that [influenced my decision], and the way I've known George DelRicco - he's never been one problem whatsoever," Beamer said.
DelRicco is not fully participating in spring drills as he recovers from off-season minor surgery.
DelRicco, who will be a junior in eligibility next year, was second on the Hokies with 103 tackles and led Tech in tackles for losses with 11. His play was instrumental in Tech's 9-3 season last year.
Also charged in the fraternity fight was Tech tailback Tommy Edwards, 20. His preliminary hearing on a felony charge of malicious wounding is set for April 14.
