MARYE, TRUMBO HONORARY HEADS OF FUND DRIVE

State Sens. Madison Marye, D-Shawsville, and Malfourd ``Bo'' Trumbo, R-Fincastle, have agreed to serve as honorary co-chairmen for the New River Valley Economic Development Alliance's 1994 investment drive.

The drive has a goal of $360,000 from the private sector, to be matched by investments from the counties of Floyd, Giles, Montgomery and Pulaskihe city of Radford, and the incorporated towns in the valley. The money will go toward the Alliance's work in marketing the region to prospective new industry.

A dozen businesses have already pledged more than $115,000 toward the goal. The drive, announced at a kickoff breakfast March 29 in Blacksburg, is expected to take about three months.

The drive will be overseen by the Alliance's executive committee, including Gary Weddle, president; Barry L. Evans, vice president and president-elect; J. Daniel Hardy Jr., vice president of operations; David C. Ridpath, treasurer; and David W. Rundgren, secretary.

Technical assistance for the drive is being provided by the Institute for Volunteer and Leadership Development of Virginia Tech.
