There will be three games tonight at each site - William Fleming, Patrick Henry and Roanoke Catholic high schools and Addison Junior High School - starting at 5:30 p.m.
Play will resume at 9 a.m. Saturday, and there will be games starting as late as 7 p.m. The top 12 teams will play Sunday starting at 10 a.m. at Fleming and PH, with the top eight advancing to the medal round April 23 at Fleming.
There will be teams from Botetourt County, Alleghany County and Henry County in addition to the three Roanoke teams - Northwest Rec, FOP Heat and Roanoke Jaguars.
Boo Williams will be sending teams from Hampton, Peninsula and Virginia Beach, and Richmond Metro usually has a strong entry.
Joe Gaither, prominent in the local AAU organization, said he has heard from a number of college coaches interested in scouting the event.
