NO REASON FOR SMITH TO COMPLAIN

To Jack Bogaczyk:

I am writing in support of your article on Dean Smith's poor sportsmanship. Many other writers seem to agree with you and so does everybody else except the North Carolina Tar Heel fans.

I would first like to give credit to Boston College for a wonderful win and I think Jim O'Brien has done a wonderful job of coaching in this tournament. I do, indeed, feel than Danya Abrams' foul was rough and he deserved an intentional foul but by no means should he have been ejected.

Deam Smith and his players spent the whole press conference whining and complaining that his kids were being pushed and grabbed. They just plain got outhustled and got to see what it really takes to win a basketball game besides talent alone.

I would like to congratulate Carolina on making the second round because they don't deserve to go any farther. I'll give Coach Smith all the credit in the world when it comes to Xs and Os but it takes more than that to be a positive college basketball coach.

I just feel that it is time for the Tar Heels to give some credit to some other teams because, by the size of their heads, they have received plenty of compliments.
