Dean Smith is not a sore loser, and if he were, after the Boston College game, he would have every right to be.
If a player as important to your team as Derrick Phelps got slammed the way he did, you would be upset, too. That was ridiculous! What was Smith supposed to do, sit back and smile after it happened? [Danya] Abrams should have been ejected, but as usual, the referees slept through that one. And everyone says Carolina "gets all the calls."
Coach Smith gives credit where credit is due. If Abrams had not have done what he did and BC went on to win the game, Smith would have accepted the loss and congratulated BC.
Once any other coach wins the games Coach Smith has and breaks the records he has, you can criticize him all you want. Until then face the facts - he's the greatest coach of all time.
